“A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats”: Insights from Janine Lombardi of J9 Leading Solutions on Critical Mass Radio Show

February 11th, 2019 by Richard (Ric) Franzi, MBA

Janine Lombardi founded J9 Leading Solutions to help leaders live better lives and lead more effectively. Not only does she provide leadership training but also consulting services. And her shared proven strategies show her ambition and passion. Janine joined Dr. Shawn Andrews to tell us more about career and women in business. Here are three takeaways from our time with Janine Lombardi on Critical Mass Radio Show:

1. Make choices. We all have the ability to shape our lives, but it is important to intentionally make space to stop and ask ourselves if we are where we want to be. If not, how can we get there? We often feel stuck in our circumstances, but there is liberation to be found when we realize that there are opportunities for change right in front of us. We don’t have to throw our lives away to build a new one; we can integrate and eliminate different aspects of our life to create a reality that better suits where we are and where we are going.

2. “A rising tide lifts all boats.” Be supportive and help others, even those who are your perceived professional competitors. There is enough for everybody, and the more we help other individuals become more skilled at what they do, the more we can elevate our industry as a whole. Pay it forward, and it will pay off.

3. Confidence is just as important as competence. While on Critical Mass Radio Show, Janine Lombardi shared that women often hold back and hesitant to speak up in the workplace, and that believing in oneself and one’s abilities is key, as oftentimes women don’t take the opportunities they are qualified for because of self-doubt. Don’t apologize, be okay with failure, and stand in your strength.
