In 1970, Tony Assali came to the United States from Beirut, Lebanon, with only $28 in his pocket. He has written his story of entrepreneurial success in his first book Catch the White Tiger. Tony joined us to discuss the origin of this term and the impact it has had on his journey. Here are three takeaways from our time with Tony Assali on Critical Mass Radio Show:
1. Always look for hidden opportunities. Oftentimes, we miss hidden opportunities. Recognize good ideas from a business perspective, and don’t hesitate; take immediate action! Follow your instincts. Once you find your “white tiger,” ensure that you seize, and capitalize, on that opportunity. Spend time being creative, despite what your inner critic tries to tell you. Go after the opportunities you see if you see a need, fill it!
2. Take a chance. Oftentimes, we don’t do the things we desire the most because we are scared to fail. Listen to your creative side more than your inner critic, and move past the fear of moving forward. Your inner critic will always tell you that you have a lot to lose, but your creative side will provide you with innate wisdom: be bold, take a chance, and don’t be afraid.
3. Don’t just LOOK for the white tiger; BE the white tiger. Developing that innate ability to just go forward, despite your doubts, is a skill. Every day, work to build this muscle, and retrain your brain with the necessary confidence to believe that if you do something, you will succeed at it.
