Authors Jennifer Rock and Michael Voss are back with a newly released sequel to their hit book B.S. Incorporated – Operation Clusterpuck. It follows the stories of unsung corporate heroes who are working to do the right thing for their work “family” in all situations. Jennifer and Michael joined us to tell us more about their new book. Here are three takeaways from our time with Jennifer Rock and Michael Voss on Critical Mass Radio Show:
1. How do you want to make your mark? While on the show, the authors of the B.S. Incorporated book series shared that legacy is one central theme in their books, adding that they hope that, in reading the books, the professional readership will reflect on the direction of their personal and professional lives. It is important to think carefully and planfully about the life and career you make for yourself. What do you want to be known for? What impact do you want to leave behind? Consider and reflect upon these questions at all stages of your career.
2. Success can come at a price. The interplay between one’s professional and personal lives as they build a career is inevitable but it can come at a price if not thought about deliberately. How do you want to live your personal and professional life? Where, and how, do you find the balance? Approach all aspects of your career growth with intention and serious consideration.
3. It is never too early to consider your legacy. Oftentimes, “legacy” has a connotation that leads it to be thought of as related to retirement, etc. However, this doesn’t have to be the case. While on Critical Mass Radio Show, our guests shared that we would all be well served to think about our legacy as early as possible. That way, we can approach every aspect of our career from a strategic standpoint, and not have any regrets looking back.
