A person’s success isn’t the result of superhuman feats. It’s the outcome of doing the things anyone can do – though most of us just don’t. A key motive can be surrounding yourself with the right people. Leo Bottary , Author of What Anyone Can Do: How Surrounding Yourself with the Right People Will Drive Change, Opportunity, and Personal Growth , joined us to share how. Here are three takeaways from our time with Leo Bottary on Critical Mass Radio Show:
1. You CAN do it. According to Leo Bottary, the truth is that the things that will change our lives are things that ANYONE can do. However, most of us never do these things, or don’t follow through, even though we know they will help. It is essential to be disciplined with your personal growth, and surround yourself with people who are doing the same, and will inspire you and hold you accountable.
2. Surround yourself with good people. Successful people surround themselves with
people striving for similar goals, and anyone can make the intentional choice to surround themselves with good people if they so desire. Doing so will help make your dreams a reality through the influence, accountability, and pay-it-forward mentality of a high-quality circle. Be vulnerable and listen to people, and watch your personal development roadmap unfold. As a leader, it is crucial to commit yourself to becoming the best version of yourself, so you can help others become their best selves as well.
3. Words matter. What you say can have a powerful impact, for better or for worse. They can empower, or they can destroy. With that in mind, choose wisely, both in terms of the words you speak to others, as well as your own inner dialogue.
